Assembly and Celebration of Learning

We hold regular assemblies, refer to school newsletters or events for the dates. We also have one or two Celebration of Learning afternoons throughout each term. Assemblies and Celebration of Learning are open to all.

Attendance

If your child is going to be absent from school, please contact the school office by 9.00am using any of the options below:

Please state the reason for your child's absence. This is a requirement from the Ministry of Education.

If your child is arriving late or needs to leave at some stage during the day, please let your child's teacher or the office know.

Bus Students

Currently there is a bus run available for pick up/drop off at Cullen Road, children who live on the other side of the lake have access to this run. If demand increases we can apply to have the bus route changed.

Cellphones

Students are not permitted to have cell phones at school.

If a cellphone is used during school hours it will be confiscated and will only be able to be collected from the teacher or the office by a parent or caregiver.

Concerns & Complaints

At Waihola School, we value open communication and are committed to addressing any concerns or complaints you may have. If you have a concern, please follow these steps: Contact the Teacher: Start by discussing your concern with your child’s teacher. They are often best positioned to resolve classroom-related issues. Speak with the Principal: If the issue remains unresolved, please reach out to the principal for further assistance. Formal Complaint: For more serious matters, you can submit a formal complaint in writing. Our office staff/Principal can guide you through this process. We aim to resolve all concerns promptly and respectfully, ensuring a positive experience for you and your child.
